What is wrong with carbonated
caffeine-containing beverages?
There are
a few reasons carbonated beverages are discouraged. First, they have no
nutritional value and beverages that contain caffeine can cause dehydration.
There is also the theory that for the body to absorb the carbonation bubbles,
oxygen is released from the blood stream to hook up with the oxide molecules to
be eliminated through the kidneys and urine. When oxygen levels in the blood go
down so does our energy level and our metabolism slows. And the final theory,
though just a theory, is the bubbles stretch the pouch. More importantly,
carbonated caffeine-containing beverages provide little nutritional value so
why put them in our bodies?
