One of the most valuable resources we have when doing the 5 Day Pouch Test, or following our LivingAfterWLS guidelines for that matter, is one another. You can always find great support in the LivingAfterWLS Neighborhood and active 5DPT'ers on the 5 Day Pouch Test message board. Here are a few of the great conversations happening this week:
5 Day Pouch Test Starting July 7th - Looking for a Buddy or Two!
I've been pretty out of control lately and in dire need of the 5 Day Pouch Test, off shopping I will go to get all my supplies to be ready to start in the AM. My family will do days 3-forever with me so just gotta get thru these first 2 days! I know I can do it, i've done this a time or two before. I just know I'm out of control and putting my foot down before 4 lbs of regain turns into 40!!

My 5 Day Pouch Test Diary - by Jennifer
I was initially gonna start my 5dpt on Monday...but figured...what the heck, why wait. Especially with the long weekend, it will make it easier to prepare my meals. So I made it through the 1st day, and overall not doing to bad. I had my GBS in September of 08 and have lost 92lbs...but the last month or so, I have been finding that I am getting hungry more often and am eating things that I probably shouldn't and thus have stopped losing weight. When I read about the 5dpt, I had to try it. I have 10-15 more lbs to lose, and I am hoping doing this will be the kick in the right direction.

I Start Tomorrow, No Really I Will
OK, so by posting it here, that I am going to start the 5DPT tomorrow, I am more likely to wake up and actually do it. I am a little nervous about the first two days, but I have been reading jen's posts and I have structured my day like that. (thanks Jen)....
One thing I did want to mention, I have only been on this board for a little while, but just by cutting out the chips and most carbs, switching to egg beaters, and not drinking with my meals (that was a big one for me), I lost seven pounds in 7 days. I could not believe it, I still can't. I only weighed myself because my uniform felt looser. I feel like I am back in control and that I can do this. My weight gain no longer seems like the impossible mountain is was a few weeks ago.
So I will report back tomorrow night and let you know, how I did and what I ate. Wish me luck.
